About CBD...

What is CBD?

CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol and is extracted from the cannabis plant. CBD is one of over 100 chemical compounds known as cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant.

How does CBD work?

The human body contains a specialized system called the endocannabinoid system (ECS). ECS is involved in regulating a variety of bodily functions including sleep, appetite, pain, and immune system response. When the body produces endocannabinoids, the neurotransmitters bind to cannabinoid receptors in the nervous system. Studies have shown that CBD can help to reduce chronic pain by influencing endocannabinoid receptor activity, reduces inflammation, and interacts with neurotransmitters. CBD oil is especially promising due to its lack of intoxicating effects and a possible lower potential for side effects than many other pain medications.

From the cannabis plant? Is it legal?

Yes, it is legal. And, no, it won’t get you high - ours won’t. In fact, our plants MUST contain less than 0.03% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in accordance with the law and our plants are tested by state and local governments. THC is the main psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis and causes the “high” sensation often associated with marijuana. CBD does not contain THC. CBD, unlike THC, is not psychoactive nor is it addictive. CBD is an appealing option to the mind-altering effects from smoking marijuana for medical ailments but is an essential component of medical marijuana.

What are the medicinal values of CBD oil?

There are a great deal of studies being conducted on CBD oil and the results are amazing. Potential medical uses of CBD includes anxiety relief, neuroprotective (stroke, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease), anti-seizure (such as epilepsy), pain relief (chronic pain, arthritis, spinal cord injuries), skin ailments (eczema, dry skin, and acne), and cancer symptom relief. CBD oil shows potential for pain relief and is becoming an alternative in the medical world to opioids. CBD is gaining momentum in the wellness and health world with scientific studies confirming that it eases the symptoms of chronic pain and anxiety. Many other ailments are positively affected by the use of CBD oil.

How is CBD oil taken?

CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant and converted to either oil or powder. Once in its raw form, it is either mixed into a cream or gel and can be rubbed onto the skin to absorb into the body in an affected area. It can also be put into capsules or sprays and then taken orally.

Where does Quinton Farms get its plants?

In order to completely control the quality of the cannabis and comply with federal, state, and local laws, Quinton Farms grows its own cannabis plants.
